Grilled Peaches and Cream

Simple, warm, and just a little indulgent. This is one of those summer desserts you can pull together quickly when you want something sweet without turning on the oven.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe peaches, halved and pitted
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt or vanilla bean ice cream
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey
  • Optional: cinnamon, chopped mint, or crushed graham crackers

Instructions

Brush peach halves lightly with olive oil or melted butter.

Place peaches cut-side down on a hot grill over medium heat. Grill for about 3 to 4 minutes, until you see nice grill marks and the fruit starts to soften. Flip and grill the skin side for another 2 to 3 minutes.

Remove from the grill and let cool just slightly.

Spoon a little yogurt or ice cream into each peach half, drizzle with honey, and finish with any extras you like.

A few easy variations

  • Swap yogurt for mascarpone for a richer dessert
  • Add a sprinkle of granola for crunch
  • Serve over pound cake or angel food cake if you want to make it more dessert-forward
