Give Your Front Door a September Refresh

September is a great time to freshen up your entryway with a few simple changes that hint at the season ahead. Start with a pair of mums in planters on either side of the front door. White, burgundy, bronze or – our favorite – bright yellow can add a little fall color while still feeling appropriate for early September.

Pair them with a clean, neutral doormat and tidy up the rest of the entry. Give the door a good cleaning, sweep away summer cobwebs and trim back any plants that have gotten a little unruly. If you have a porch light, make sure the fixture is clean and the bulb is working.

A welcoming entry doesn’t have to be complicated. A few fresh touches, a little cleanup and some seasonal color can make your front door feel inviting as we head into a new season
