Cranberry Pecan Baked Brie
Prep: 15 minutes · Bake: 25–30 minutes · Serves: 8–10
Creamy Brie, tart cranberries, crunchy pecans and flaky golden pastry make this a festive appetizer for Thanksgiving gatherings and holiday get-togethers. It looks impressive on the table, but it’s surprisingly easy to make!
Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 (8-ounce) wheel of Brie cheese
- ½ cup whole-berry cranberry sauce
- ⅓ cup chopped pecans
- 1 tablespoon honey or pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves or ½ teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten
- Crackers or sliced apples for serving
Instructions
- Prep the oven. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the pastry. Unfold the thawed puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface. Roll it out slightly if needed, making sure it’s large enough to wrap around the Brie.
- Add the toppings. Place the Brie in the center of the pastry. Spoon the cranberry sauce over the top, then sprinkle with chopped pecans, honey and thyme, if using.
- Wrap it up. Fold the pastry over the Brie, bringing the edges together at the top. Pinch to seal and trim any excess pastry. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush and bake. Brush the pastry with beaten egg. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Let it rest. Allow the Brie to cool for 10–15 minutes before serving. This helps the melted cheese settle a bit so it’s easier to slice and serve.
- Serve warm. Transfer to a serving platter and accompany with crackers or sliced apples.
A little tip: For an extra-pretty finish, reserve a few pecans and cranberries to sprinkle on top just before serving. A small drizzle of honey adds a lovely finishing touch.
Enjoy this warm, gooey, sweet-and-savory appetizer all season long!
