House plants – big and small – have been popular in home design for decades, and the trend has grown in the past 18 months. The pandemic resulted in a “botanic boom.” Why? Because, for many, indoor plants became a link to nature when we were afraid to leave the house.

Yellow has always been our favorite color. We love it so much we plant it in yards all over Lawrence. But ever since Pantone chose the cheerful shade “Illuminating” as one of its 2021 Colors of the Year, this bold color is lighting up homes everywhere.

Once again, May brings a whirlwind of activity to our town. Students are preparing and practicing for graduation ceremonies. Friends and family are planning parties. Hotels, restaurants, and shops are getting ready to welcome guests traveling to town for the festivities. Our graduates have worked hard and endured the most unusual circumstances. It’s time to recognize their achievements.
